What is Titus?
Introduction to Titus
Titus is a specialized checkout solution designed for the real estate industry. We enable merchants—such as photographers, home stagers, and contractors—to offer flexible payment options to real estate agents and their clients.
With Titus, your customers can choose to pay immediately or defer payment until the home sale closes. Regardless of their choice, you receive payment upfront.
Integration Paths
Before you begin, determine which integration model fits your business structure:
-
Platform Integration: Best for marketplaces or SaaS platforms that process payments on behalf of multiple sub-merchants or vendors.
-
Direct Business Integration: Best for individual companies that sell services and receive payments directly.
Integration Types
We offer two primary ways to implement Titus into your checkout flow:
-
Full Checkout: Use Titus as your primary payment gateway. This handles all transactions, including standard credit card payments and "Pay at Close" options.
-
Pay at Close Only: Add Titus as a supplemental payment method alongside your existing processor (e.g., Stripe or Square) specifically to handle deferred payments.
Customer Journey & Logic
The Titus integration typically follows these three stages:
-
Pre-purchase: Use the Browser SDK to display dynamic prompts on your site, informing customers they can pay at closing.
-
Purchase: The customer selects Titus at checkout. Upon submission, they are redirected to the Titus hosted environment to finalize their payment selection.
-
Post-purchase: After completion, the user is redirected back to your configured success_url to view their order confirmation.
Regional Availability
The "Pay at Close" feature is subject to state-specific regulations. Please ensure your integration accounts for these unsupported regions:
